Today, we’re grappling with the debate of adding onto your current home or buying a new, larger property in the surrounding Miami area.

There are plenty of benefits to either side. Typically, remodeling is less expensive compared to buying. However, if you’re someone interested in luxury features, such as a heated bathroom floor, it might not be a bargain for you. Additionally, account for other expenses associated with renovating including dumpsters, drilling, and overall disruption.

Don’t underestimate the inconvenience of living on a construction site, either. Sharing your home with contractors and other strangers can be challenging alone. If you’re concerned with privacy, consider a temporary rental property if your budget allows for it.

However, buying a new home is exciting. It’s the start of a new life chapter for your family. Plus, you’ve probably learned from your mistakes in your initial home search and have a better idea of what you want in a home. You’re more confident going in as a home buyer this time around.

If you’re thinking about buying or selling in the area, give me a call or send me an email. I’d be happy to work with and serve your local real estate needs!
